We are grateful for the support and guidance that KPH provides the Emerging Construction Business Incubator (ECBI), usually at no cost, to help us position startup firms as they pursue governmental construction opportunities. Specifically that means providing mentoring and assistance to construction firms looking to gain entry into the completive construction market. Occasionally by way of joint venture KPH Construction joins forces with an 8(a) certified emerging construction firm to perform work for government entities that are looking to satisfy 8(a) procurement requirements.

There are multiple advantages that arise from this arrangement:

  • The joint venture provides a base of knowledgeable experience to the new business to help "learn the ropes" of managing a successful project from beginning to end. Having run numerous construction projects for many years, KPH Construction has the precise knowledge and experience that will benefit these emerging companies.
  • The joint venture allows for a new construction business entity to compete more successfully in the marketplace by fulfilling bonding requirements for the project, which is most often a roadblock to entering into the competitive construction market.
  • The business incubator site located at KPH Construction allows for affordable space and service (i.e. financial and marketing advice) in order to give emerging businesses a chance at competing with more established, successful companies, while they are at their most vulnerable stage of growth.
